Vatican City is considered to be the center of the Roman Catholic Church and home to the Pope. The KIIS group will visit St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museum, all of which are the most popular landmarks of Vatican City.
A walk through the neighborhood where the group will spend a month will allow everybody to have a look at a true Parisian neighborhood and will allow participants to get a feel for the location of local landmarks, everyday shops, restaurants and so on.
We take a walking tour of this city situated in the region of Castilla y León. We will visit major landmarks, such as Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Zorrilla, Plaza del Viejo Coso, Pasaje Gutiérrez, and Playa de las Moreras while learning about local history, culture, and art, as well as life in the city.
Surrounded by pristine nature, the clear Nagara River flowing through the center and lush green Mt. Kinka towering in the distance, Gifu is known for its traditional 1,300-year-old Ukai (Cormorant fishing) and Gifu Castle, a national historic site.
The Duomo is the main cathedral of Florence. With its famous cupola (dome) designed and engineered by Brunelleschi, fascade, baptistery and campanile, it is one of the most memorable landmarks in the world.
The Uffizi and Accademia Galleries showcase some of the most important artworks created during the Italian Renaissance. Home to famous artworks, such as, Michelangelo’s David, Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and countless others, students will experience these masterpieces firsthand.
The Colosseum and Roman Forum are some of the most important landmarks of western civilization. We will spend time exploring these ancient ruins that were once the center of the world and that have captivated our collective imagination ever since.
Students have the option of a “Spring Break” on the island of Santorini which is known for its breathtaking sunsets and the volcanic activity that shaped the island. With its iconic whitewashed buildings and blue dome top roofs, students won’t want to miss out.
Students will be able to concretize their academic work when we go to Delphi, home of Apollo, one of the holiest places on earth, and Olympia, birthplace of the great games and showplace of Western values of competition and wellbeing.
