Any request to withdraw from a KIIS program after acceptance must be emailed directly from the student to Haley McTaggart(haley.mctaggart@wku.edu). Withdrawal requests not directly received from the student are not valid.
Refund and Withdrawal Schedule
Winter Programs:

- If you selected the KIIS group flight, you are charged 100% of group flight cost if you withdraw anytime after October 15.
- If you need to withdraw from your KIIS Winter program, you should do so BEFORE OCTOBER 15 to avoid significant financial consequences.
- No refund of any kind is issued after November 15; after November 15, you are responsible for 100% of your KIIS program fee (and group flight, if selected).
Summer Programs:

- No refund of any kind is issued after April 1; after April 1, you are responsible for 100% of your KIIS program fee (and group flight, if selected).
Spain Semester Programs:

- If you need to withdraw from your KIIS Spain Semester program, you should do so BEFORE OCTOBER 15 to avoid significant financial consequences.
- No refund of any kind is issued after November 15; after November 15, you are responsible for 100% of your KIIS program fee.
The $250 application deposit will be refunded if:
- You completed your KIIS application and were not accepted into the program.
- You are placed on a waiting list and a space does not become available.
- You are placed on a waiting list and offered a space on another KIIS program and decline the offer.
The $250 application deposit will NOT be refunded if:
- You withdraw your application at any time for any reason.
- Your KIIS application remains incomplete (e.g. missing transcript, essay, faculty recommendation, etc.) following the regular application deadline.
- If on a waiting list, you are offered a space in your program, but you decide not to accept it.
- You are removed from your program due to non-payment of program fees or not submitting your Admitted Student Documents on time.
Moreover, KIIS will NOT provide a refund of any kind:
- If you are not able to participate on your KIIS program due to not having a valid passport in hand before your KIIS program’s departure.
- If you are a non-US citizen, and not able to participate on your KIIS program due to not having a valid KIIS Program host country (countries) visa before your KIIS program’s departure.
- If the airline or the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) refuses to allow you to board your flight, and as a result, you are not able to participate on your KIIS program.
- If you are removed or expelled from your program at any time and for any reason. See KIIS Expulsion policy.
Please Note:
KIIS does not provide trip cancellation insurance should you need to cancel your participation in your KIIS program before your program’s departure or leave your program prematurely.
CANCEL FOR ANY REASON (CFAR) insurance is not provided by KIIS. You may wish to purchase CFAR insurance independently through a third-party vendor. Please read the fine print details of any CFAR insurance policy you may come to purchase. KIIS in no way is responsible for any omissions or limitations of a CFAR policy you purchase independently.
KIIS reserves the right to cancel any of its programs or courses due to war, political unrest, terrorism, natural disaster, low enrollment, unforeseen circumstances, or a travel warning issued by the U.S. State Department.
