Neighborhood Walks

Neighborhood Walks We begin our trip with several walks around Berlin that will highlight World War II history, the Holocaust of the Jewish culture in Berlin, the Soviet occupation and Berlin’s rebirth as the center of modern Germany.

City of Barcelona Museum

City of Barcelona Museum The MUHBA includes an archaeological site that traverses the history of the city from Roman to Gothic streets.  This visit to the museum introduces the city center and historic sites as well as navigating the city on your own through public transportation.

Innsbruck

This excursion will take us to Innsbruck, the “Capital of the Alps,” where we’ll spend part of our day visiting the old city, its spectacular Baroque cathedral, and the iconic Golden Roof building and museum. We’ll spend the first part of our day traveling to Munich’s suburb of Dachau, where we will tour the Concentration Camp Memorial. U.S. Embassy Debriefing

We visit the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires and receive a country briefing led by a current U.S. Foreign Service Officer (FSO) to learn about historical and contemporary economic and political conditions in Argentina and the current relationship between our two countries.

Ex-ESMA/Espacio Memoria

During El Proceso, the 1976-83 Dictatorship, human rights groups estimate that more than 100,000 people were tortured and more than 30,000 people “disappeared.” On this excursion, we visit and walk through one of the central sites where many people were held, tortured, and murdered.

La Casa Rosada Tour

La Casa Rosada (The Pink House) is the Presidential Palace for Argentina. We’ll walk through the halls listening to a guided tour in English and visit the balcony immortalized in the movie/musical Evita, the site where First Lady Eva Peron spoke to los descamisados (impoverished workers) in her famous 1951 speech.
