ART 491 Topics: Japanese Crafts Making: Origami, Sashiko, Kirie Paper Cut, Chigirie Paper Collage
This studio course is open to all students and introduces traditional Japanese crafts, including Sashiko stitching, origami, kirie paper cutting, chigiri‑e torn‑paper collage, and mizuhiki cord art. Through hands-on workshops and cultural site visits, students will gain an understanding of the techniques, history, and aesthetics of these Japanese craft traditions.
