This course provides an introduction to the foundational skills of choral and instrumental conducting. Students will develop and practice fundamental conducting patterns, along with essential technical skills including preparatory gestures, cutoffs, cues, fermatas, and techniques for communicating dynamics, articulation, tempo changes, and irregular meters. Additional emphasis is placed on score study, aural development, and effective rehearsal strategies.
