This course is an introduction to hands-on filmmaking open to all students with no prior experience required. Students will explore key movements in French cinema history, with a focus on the French New Wave of the 1950s – 60s, examining the styles and aesthetics that defined each era. Students will then apply these lessons by creating their own short films on the streets of Paris, where these legendary films were shot.
