This cross-listed course combines the study of the history of ancient Greece with the material evidence examined by classical archaeology. Covering the period from the Bronze Age through the Hellenistic era (ca. 3000–31 B.C.), the course surveys major artifacts, monuments, and archaeological sites of the Greek world. Students will explore key historical developments as well as the social, cultural, political, and religious practices of ancient Greek societies.
