Itzá A. Zavala-Garrett holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before being a full professor at Morehead State University, she worked in Mexico, being rewarded by MSU with the Distinguished Teacher Award. Furthermore, Dr. Zavala-Garrett has several experiences as a faculty and director in numerous study abroad programs.
