Program Overview
The KIIS Spain Fall Semester program in Segovia provides an ideal setting for students to study Spanish and to absorb Spanish art, culture, and history. During this 13-week program, students take classes in the heart of Segovia and learn firsthand about daily life in Spain while living with a homestay family. Only 60 miles north of Madrid, Segovia is an attractive provincial capital in the foothills of the Guadarrama mountains. The city retains the strong, traditional character of Old Castile and has a visible history that dates back to pre-Roman times— Segovia’s world-renowned castles, aqueducts, museums and beautiful environs provide ample evidence. Segovia also offers a weekly open-air market, picturesque plazas and cafes, and beautiful architecture. Please note that students wishing to participate in the Spain Semester program must have at least 6 hours of college-level Spanish or equivalent at the time of departure.
All KIIS course credit is awarded by Western Kentucky University. Prior to your KIIS program, please speak with your home campus academic advisor and/or study abroad office to determine course equivalencies. Grades will be transferred to your home institution in mid-August after the completion of the program. Course offerings are subject to change according to enrollment. For more information, visit Transcripts & Grades.
What's Included
Program Cost: $9,850 + airfare
To help you budget, keep in mind that you are responsible for the cost of your textbooks & internet fees, passport fees (approx. $135), personal expenses (approx. $500/month), independent travel ($1500, optional) and any fees from your college/university.
Although KIIS tries to foresee all possible expenses in formulating program fees, please note that dramatic fluctuations in foreign currency valuations and/or airline surcharges may affect the total cost of the program.
