KIIS Offers One $500 Scholarship for Each Summer Program
*Note: Summer Ecuador applicants: Kentucky Ecuador Partners (KEP) offers an additional $500 scholarship to a KIIS Ecuador student. Click here to apply for the KEP scholarship. KIIS Ecuador students may apply for both the KIIS and KEP $500 scholarships.
KIIS Summer Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
Currently enrolled at a college or university that is a full member of the KIIS consortium.
Be returning as a student to your college or university during the academic year following your KIIS summer abroad program.
Have accrued 30 semester hours of college credit by the end of the Spring semester preceding your KIIS Summer program.
Have at least a 3.0 overall GPA
Demonstrate financial need (complete personal statement and/or financial aid statement - see below):
Submit your KIIS study abroad application (including all supporting materials) and pay your $250 application fee by February 15.
A Complete KIIS Scholarship Application Consists of:
Completed scholarship application form
Prepare a personal statement explaining your need for financial assistance to study abroad (1-2 page essay)
If receiving financial aid, have a financial aid counselor at your college or university complete the KIIS financial aid statement
Deadline: Email above materials to john.dizgun@wku.edu by February 15 (or following business day if February 15 falls on weekend/holiday)
Notification: KIIS informs scholarship applicants 6 weeks after the February 15 deadline.
