Faculty who have taught on KIIS's programs are invited to enter the KIIS Faculty Photo and Video Contest.

How to Enter
  Like the KIIS Facebook page (facebook.com/kiisabroad) to enter/win.
  Upload your photos and/or videos from your KIIS teach abroad experiences to Facebook and publish your posts to the
     KIIS Facebook page.
  Mention KIIS Study Abroad on Facebook and use the hashtags #KIISFaculty, #TakeYourEducationFurther plus a hashtag with your
     KIIS program name (for example: #KIISGreece or #KIISMayaMexicoWinter). Click here for list of KIIS program names.
  You may submit multiple photos/videos from your KIIS experiences abroad, but you can only submit the same photo/video once.
     It is okay to share your post multiple times.

Photo and Video Categories
1. Photo and video entries should highlight KIIS study/teach abroad scenarios. For example:
     Studying and living abroad experiences: flying into the country, traveling on trains, interactions with host families or
        hotel/university staff, food, cultural experiences (i.e., festivals, community events, etc.), interactions with vendors at local
        markets/restaurants & so on.
     Academics: your students working on assignments, learning moments, experiences at archeological, museum, and scenic
         excursion sites.
     Promotional: photos/videos of what students might like to see on the KIIS website, posters, marketing materials, etc.
     Inspirational: photos/videos that inspire students to study abroad or faculty to teach abroad by highlighting how to
        "Take Your Education Further with KIIS" or give a message to "Send Me There".

2. Video entries may be one of the following:
     Videos without any special effects (i.e., no text on the words, fade in or outs, no narration or music, etc.). Submit a series of
        4-5 silent videos, which are each 5-12 seconds long. For video ideas, visit the desktop homepage site of www.airbnb.com.
     Videos with music and/or special effects (20-90 seconds long).

Contest Rules
  Photos or videos must be entrant's original work/on entrant's camera/phone (i.e. if you have an idea for a photo and direct a
     friend/stranger to take a photo of you on your camera, it is okay for you to be in the photo.)
  Photos are expected to meet the standards expected of KIIS participants abroad and should not depict indecent or disrespectful
     behavior.
  You must not inaccurately tag content or encourage users to inaccurately tag content (ex: don't encourage people to tag
     themselves in photos if they aren't in the photo).

Deadlines and Selection Process
  The contest is open from now until August 7, 2016.
  Each photo/video will be judged on clarity, creativity, and by how appropriate the content is for study/teaching abroad experiences.
  A panel will select the top photos/videos and will then repost the top photos and videos on Facebook.
  Once posted, faculty can ask the KIIS Facebook community, his/her family, friends, and others to vote for their photos/videos.
  Voting will last 7 days after the photos/videos have been reposted on Facebook.
  Winners will be selected on how many likes the photo/video gets on Facebook.
  Winners will be announced via Facebook and Instagram. After the winners are announced they will have 72 hours to respond with
     their email address and contact information (notification approximately mid-late September).

Prizes
  1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Photo and/or or Video winners (the top 3 with the most "likes") will receive a $25 Gift Card, photos and/or
     videos might be used on KIIS marketing materials, the KIIS website or in a KIIS Spotlight on Social Media.
  Honorable Mentions: May have their photos and/or videos published on the KIIS website, featured on KIIS marketing materials or
     spotlighted on KIIS Social Media sites.


Photo and Video Release
By submitting your photos and videos to Facebook and mentioning KIIS Study Abroad on Facebook with a combination of the hashtags #KIISFaculty, #TakeYourEducationFurther and a hashtag with your KIIS program name (for example: #KIISChina or #KIISTanzania), KIIS will have non-exclusive copyright for all photos and videos entered into the KIIS Faculty Photo and Video contest. Each Entrant, as a condition of participation in the KIIS Contest, hereby grants KIIS the right to edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, publish, distribute, and otherwise use the photo and/or video in any way or in any media now or hereafter known for marketing, advertising, promotional, social media, or other purposes as KIIS determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, without further notice or compensation to the Entrant or any other third parties. Nothing herein shall be construed to require KIIS to publish, distribute, or in any way use the photo and/or video should KIIS in its sole discretion decline to do so. By submitting photos and/or videos, you further confirm that you have received permission from the subjects in the photo and/or videos to submit their form and likeness for this contest and have informed them that their form and likeness may be used for marketing and promotional purposes.

Per Facebook rules, we must mention that the KIIS Faculty Contest is in no way sponsored, administered, or associated with Facebook. By entering, entrants confirm they are 13+ years of age, release Facebook of responsibility, and agree to Facebook's terms of use.
