The KIIS winter program in Italy is an eleven-day program that begins in the beautiful Tuscan city of Florence and ends in the country's magnificent capital, Rome.
Students spend the first five days in Florence living within walking distance of the most famous museums and sites in Italy's Renaissance capital. The program then moves to Rome where students have five days to visit and explore the Vatican, Colosseum, famous churches, and many more memorable monuments. In Rome, the students reside in the charming medieval neighborhood of Trastevere, an easy walk to most of the most celebrated spots in Rome.
Courses are designed to integrate classroom learning with cultural excursions to museums, art galleries, and ancient ruins.
Please Note: No Italian is required for this program (all instruction is in English). Students with some language proficiency will be able to improve their speaking skills as well as their knowledge of Italian culture through interactions with locals and explorations of diverse regions of this spectacular country.
Students should be aware that the Italy Winter program is very strenuous. Prospective students should be prepared for long walks or be mobile enough to travel 4 to 8 miles each day.
