The Kentucky Institute for International Studies will begin accepting proposals for courses to be taught in its 20 programs abroad during the summer of 2005.

Each spring, faculty from all of the KIIS consortium schools is selected to teach courses in a wide variety of academic areas for programs in the summer of the following year.  Each program has a special character or focus, and program descriptions are included on this section of the website.

The major criteria for selection of courses are appropriateness to the geographic site and the expected level of student interest.  In general, programs are five to six weeks in length, with a few lasting two to four weeks.  In most programs, each faculty member teaches two courses, and has all living expenses paid.  Faculty receives a round-trip airline ticket with the group (or the equivalent) and a per diem of $1,500 paid prior to the departure of the program.

The deadline for submitting course proposals to the KIIS office is February 21, 2004, with the final determination to be made by around May 1, 2004.  The completed application must be signed by the consortium school's KIIS campus representative before it can be considered.

Questions may be e-mailed to kiismsu@murraystate.edu.
