The application for
admission must be completed and returned to the KIIS office
according to the schedule that follows. If you are currently enrolled at a
consortium-member school , you must have the KIIS campus
representative sign your application. If you are not currently enrolled at
a consortium-member school, please leave the space blank.
Applications will not be considered unless all items are completed.
Only TYPED applications will be considered.
The letter of recommendation
form must be completed by a faculty member at your institution who is
familiar with your academic as well as personal background. It should be
returned directly to the KIIS office by the faculty member or given to you
in a sealed envelope to mail according to the schedule that follows.
Students who are not currently matriculated may have the letter of
recommendation completed by an employer or any non-family member who is
well acquainted with them. It is the applicant's responsibility to
ensure that the recommendation is submitted by the deadline.
As part of the application packet, all applicants, including students not
presently matriculated, must request an official transcript from
each college or university attended. The transcript must be mailed
directly from the Registrar's Office of the student's institution to the
KIIS office. STUDENT-ISSUED TRANSCRIPTS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. It is the
applicant's responsibility to ensure that the transcript is submitted by
the deadline. It is recommended that students request transcripts at least
two weeks prior to the application deadline.
A complete application packet consists of the following:
• A completed, typed
application form
• The required essay
• A completed air travel form
• A letter of recommendation
• A transcript from all colleges and universities attended
• The $150 application fee (see payment info)
• A copy of your passport or application for a passport
• Three passport size photos
• FOR CHINA ONLY: A completed visa application AND a copy of a
valid passport OR a copy of an application for a U.S. passport which has
recently been submitted.
The application deadline is February 15, 2005. All complete
application materials postmarked by February 15, 2005 will be reviewed,
and notification of decision will be sent within three weeks. The
application fee of $150, must accompany the application
Cashier's checks, money orders,
credit cards,
or cash will be accepted as payment. (Please see link for credit card
form.)
After February 15, 2005. Late application. Complete application
materials postmarked after February 15, 2005, will be considered on an
individual basis if space is available. The $150 application fee, plus a
$100 late fee (not applied to the program fee), must accompany the
application.
All application materials will be reviewed based on academic performance
and the applicant's appropriateness for study abroad.
