In the past,
students have been able to apply most types of financial aid
to the KIIS programs. These include Stafford loans, the GI Bill, and
scholarships.
Students must contact the financial aid office at their school for
instructions on applying for financial aid. In all cases, financial aid
will be processed through the student's home institution. The procedure
to
secure financial assistance can last many months and should be initiated
early.
If students receive financial aid, they must be registered as full-time.
For KIIS purposes that means being enrolled in six credit hours during
summer programs and 12 during semester programs. It may be possible for
students to enroll in one course during a summer KIIS program and also
enroll in a course at their home institution during another summer
session,
if offered. Students should consult with their own financial aid
department to determine if this is possible. Payment of program
fees will not be deferred for students receiving financial aid.
