1. Does KIIS defer payment for students receiving
financial aid?
No, all students must
submit payments by the stated deadlines.

May a spouse or child accompany a participant on a KIIS
program?
Yes, but only
on a space-available basis. Spouses of participants are required to
apply to the program and register for at least one course for academic
credit unless that spouse is going to take care of a child or a
participant with a disability. Family members must pay the full program
fee whether taking classes or not.

Will an application that is missing the application fee be
considered?
No, the
application fee of $150 must accompany the application.
4.
What about applications that are postmarked by the
application deadline
but are missing either the official transcript, letter of
recommendation,
or both.
Applications
will not be considered without the official transcript and letter
of recommendation.
If the official transcript or letter of recommendation are both
postmarked after the application deadline, then the student's
application will be considered on a space-available basis.
5. Will late applications be
considered?
Applications postmarked after the
application deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
Students are encouraged to submit their application, there is a
possibility of availability in the semester programs. If a program has
a waiting list, late applicants who are accepted will automatically go to
the bottom of the waiting list.
6.
Will KIIS accept an unofficial, student-issued transcript?
No, the
transcript must be official and must be mailed directly
from the student’s registrar’s office to the KIIS office. The
transcript MAY NOT be issued to the student or any other person
in a sealed envelope and forwarded to the KIIS office. It is
recommended that students request transcripts at least two weeks prior
to the application deadline to allow sufficient turnaround time in the
mailing of the transcript.
7.
How should letters of recommendation be mailed?
Letters of
recommendation may be mailed directly from the professor writing the
letter of recommendation or may be given to the student in a sealed
envelope to mail to KIIS.
8. How does the waiting list work?
If there are more applicants than a program
can accommodate, then a waiting list is created. A student on the waiting
list may move up into a space that is created if an accepted student
withdraws from a program. If a student does not move off the waiting
list, the $150 application fee will be refunded.
9. Is the $150 application fee
refundable?
The $150 application fee is nonrefundable
except when a student is not accepted into a program after review by the
program director or when a student is put on a waiting list but does not
move into a place in a program.
