Program Description

While in Salzburg, the Institute will sponsor numerous opportunities to visit important historical, cultural, and commercial sites in Austria and Germany.  These excursions will provide participants with active, hands-on experiences to assist in understanding economic concepts.  Program participants will be able to return to their classrooms more informed and excited about integrating economics into their classroom.

The program is designed to address the Kentucky Core Content in Economics as well as the Voluntary National Standards of the National Council on Economic Education.

While the program is intended for K-12 teachers, undergraduate education majors with at least junior standing may also be considered.  The program is not appropriate for graduate or undergraduate economics majors.

No previous German language or cultural experience is required.

Orientation sessions informing participants about important aspects of life and travel in Europe will be held in Kentucky before departure and on location in Europe immediately upon arrival.
